The quality of AI output depends almost entirely on the brief. A vague objective like 'promote our product' produces generic copy. A specific one — 'get fitness beginners to start a 7-day free trial of our app' — produces something you can actually run.
Give the AI three things: the audience, the single most important benefit, and the action you want. Everything else is optional.
Set the tone deliberately. 'Bold' and 'Premium' produce very different ads for the same product. If you have brand guidelines, paste a sentence or two of existing copy so the model can match your voice.
Finally, always generate several variations and test them. The AI is a fast first draft, not a final judge — your audience decides which message wins.
